74 Days

In 74 days I will be married to the coolest person I know and my life will change dramatically. Want to know how? I can stop making a countdown for every little thing I have to look forward to!! I can't wait to actually lose track of time and complain about it going by too fast. This has been my life for the past year:
Kellan's game 3 Days
Denver for Easter/Days left of sophomore year 15 Days
Bridals 23 days
Utah Bridal shower 24 days
Move home 25 days
Cal bridal shower 38 days
Kellan comes to CA 44 Days
Kellan comes before wedding 68 days
DAYS UNTIL THE WEDDING 74

Look how close it is getting people!!!

I have learned more in the last year than I can comprehend and I am grateful for the challenges I have gone through and the added strength that has come from them. I am blessed to have such great people in my life who have dealt with me in my not-so-glamorous moments these past couple months. I have always considered myself a generally patient person but after this year my patience has been tested unlike ever before. This video describes what I have learned this past year:

I have often felt like the child at the table with the marshmallow sitting in front of me that I couldn't eat. I have asked many times why we chose to wait so long, however the closer June 18th gets the more Kellan and I understand and realize the blessings that have come from our patience and long suffering.
74 days seems like an eternity away but when that day comes I will be glad we waited and our reward will be far greater than an extra marshmallow!

Long, crazy, cold, awesome, wonderful WINTER

This blog post is supposed to cover the last couple months of my life which have been crazy so here is the summary of everything:

1. I GOT ENGAGED!
I was so excited for Thanksgiving and relieved that Kellan had played his hardest but still managed to lose in the NCAA tourney because we were going to actually be in the SAME place for longer than two days! So the plan was that I would fly into Oakland after class on Monday and he would fly in later that evening. He was acting funny the night before and told me he was so sick and just wanted to go to bed. I was so stressed with school and did not think much about it. However when I flew into Oakland I was ticked off because Kellan had not been texting me all day. My dad and sister picked me up from the airport and took me up to the Oakland temple because my dad said he needed to do something up there. I did not think it was unusual because I was so mad that Kellan was so not texting me and calling me letting me know where he was. Anyways we got there and my dad and my sister wanted to go leisurely walk around on the temple terrace, which if you know anything about Brook and my dad it is sooo not like them to do that. When we got up there we were staring at the view and someone tapped me on the shoulder...you guessed right...it was Kellan. He got down on his knee and proposed to me. The rest of my family showed up and Bradley had been recording the whole thing. Kellan was so nervous that he forgot what he was going to say and almost put the ring on the wrong finger! It was absolutely perfect! I never thought Kellan would be able to pull that over on me so I was mainly shocked because he had planned something without me finding out!

2. I spent Christmas away from home!
Instead of traveling to California I stayed in Utah for Christmas with the Christensen's and had a blast. I am marrying into an awesome family (who makes ever more awesome food by the way) and look at all the cute nieces and nephews I get to claim! Shout out to Maren, Hallie, and Chloe...GIRLS RULE! It is really a blessing to have Kellan's parents and little brother Eric in Utah with me, they take good care of me and make me feel loved (I know Eric loves me even though all we do is punch each other)!

3. We went to Mexico!
We went on the Mexican Riviera cruise with my family the day after Christmas! It was a blast! Kellan drugged himself on sea sick medicine so he didn't quite make it to midnight on New Years Eve. I still have never had a new year's kiss and I thought for sure this would be the year for it. Now I will just have to wait until next year and Kellan will not be allowed to touch any medicine that night! We love my family so so much and Kellan can never get enough of teasing my siblings. At times I think my family loves him more than me (almost all the time) but I am very grateful for that!
